19th Annual Kayak for the Warriors

Registration is open for the 19th Annual Kayak for the Warriors, hosted by the Town of Pine Knoll Shores. The multi-day event features a kickoff party, golf tournament, Warrior Reception and silent and live auctions, golf ball drop and the signature 3.2-mile kayak and paddleboard event benefiting Hope For The Warriors.

The event series begins with a kickoff party Thursday, May 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Tipsy Turtle in Atlantic Beach. The event features music, a DJ, food, 50/50 raffles, wine and dine tickets and door prizes. No tickets are required to attend.

The kayak and stand-up paddleboard event will take place Saturday, May 30, beginning at 9 a.m. The 3.2-mile course starts at Garner Park and continues through Bogue Sound and the Pine Knoll Shores canals. Registration is $50 for a single kayak or paddleboard and $100 for a tandem entry. The fee includes a T-shirt and lunch. Online registration is encouraged and closes May 27. On-site registration will also be available the day of the event.

The Warrior Trophy is awarded to the paddler or team who brings in the most donations.

For those who prefer to support the event on land, lunch will be available for $10 per adult and $15 per family.

The Warrior Reception and auctions will be held Thursday, June 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Crystal Coast Country Club. Tickets are $25 per person and include hors d’oeuvres, music and access to silent and live auctions. The silent auction will open online May 28 and conclude at the reception. Online registration is required to attend.

The annual Kayak for the Warriors Golf Tournament is scheduled for Friday, June 12, with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start at the Crystal Coast Country Club. The tournament costs $110 per player and includes 18 holes of golf, a cart and lunch. Prizes will be awarded for first- and second-place teams, longest drive, closest to the pin and additional categories. Mulligans will be available for purchase. Online registration is required and is known to close early. The Wine & Dine Basket will be awarded at the lunch – over $1000 in wine and restaurant gift certificates. Tickets can be bought online by going to k4tw.org. You do not need to be there.

Concluding the series of events is the Golf Ball Drop Thursday, Sept. 24 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Crystal Coast County Club near the tennis facility. Each golf ball is $20. $1,000 will be awarded to the closest ball to the pin with additional prize opportunities available. Participants do not need to be present to win and golf ball purchases can be made by emailing golfcoordinator@k4tw.org or purchasing on line at k4tw.org. Spectators are welcome to enjoy food and drinks available for purchase and music for entertainment.
