Producer and Garbage drummer Butch Vig isn't sure what exactly will be on the soundtrack to Dave Grohl's documentary about Sound City Studios. Vig has been producing the sessions for the film, which is about the studio where Nirvana recorded Nevermind. His last work on the project was a recent session with Grohl and Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic. Vig tells NME, "We're not really sure how it's all gonna end up at this point, but it's been fun. There's still quite a bit more work to do and we hope to finish up in the next three or four months, and try get it all mixed and completed sometime in the fall."



Stone Temple Pilots' first announced show of the year is headlining the Rock Allegiance festival on September 1st in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The lineup also includes Three Days Grace, Seether, Buckcherry, Daughtry, Fuel, Puddle of Mudd, Black Stone Cherry, Foxy Shazam and Redlight King.
STP are expected to tour in late summer and early fall to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut album, Core.



If you're a hockey fan, get ready to hear and see a lot more of Nickelback. They've signed a deal with the NHL to perform two songs at the 2012 NHL Awards on June 20th in Las Vegas. And their music will be used during highlight reels on NBC Sports coverage of the NHL playoffs starting next month.



Rob Zombie has launched an online comedy series called My Name Is Eugene on the Nerdist Channel on YouTube



Vince Neil will appear on the Travel Channel's Ghost Adventures on Friday night.
