A Perfect Circlehave lost their drummer, Josh Freese. Freese, who's been drumming for Weezer and Sublime With Rome as of late, made the announcement via Twitter, saying "After 13 years, I've decided to leave [the band] with no plans of returning."
A Perfect Circlehave one date set for this year, December 29th at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. They'll also be playing the Soundwave Festival in Australia in February and Lollapalooza in South America in April.

Smashing Pumpkinsfrontman Billy Corgan is being sued over a tree.
Smashing Pumpkinsfrontman Billy Corgan is being sued over a tree. Grey's Anatomy star Eric Dane says one of the trees from Corgan's property almost fell on Dane's pregnant wife, actress Rebecca Gayheart, last year during a storm.
The lawsuit states claims that the tree came crashing through the couple's Beverly Hills home, flooding the house and breaking a giant power line. Dane claims that Corgan had been warned about the dangerous eucalyptus trees on his property and failed to take action. The couple is suing for are suing for nuisance, negligence and injunctive relief, and demanding unspecified damages.
Corgan tells TMZthat Dane's claims are "patently untrue... I was horrified when I learned about the tree falling during what was a massive storm, a storm with winds strong enough to uproot a 50-foot tree by its base! Thankfully no one was injured." Corgan says that after the accident, he hired an expert to remove all of the trees from his property.

Metallicawill be making more than just Kill 'Em All sneakers with the Vans company. That footwear is due out in March to mark the 30th anniversary of their debut album. But on October 20th, Vans will release a Metallica edition on their Half Cab pro shoe to mark the company's 20th anniversary. And in February the Metallica Passion Projects line of shoes will be released. Each member designed his own shoe for the series. Met Club members will be able to order those kicks in January.

The Queensryche saga is back in the courts again.
The Queensryche saga is back in the courts again. This time the band has filed a pre-trial motion requesting that ex-singer Geoff Tate stop using the band's name until their lawsuits are resolved. The motion comes in the wake of Tate claiming that he was starting a new lineup of the band and would hit the road next year. Bassist Eddie Jackson tells Billboard, "The recent announcement of a second Queensryche lineup, upcoming tour plans and new musical direction has caused some confusion for our fans. This confusion has caused [us] to file a motion against our former vocalist to prevent him from using the name Queensryche." Queensryche are currently recording a new album with new singer Todd LaTorre.
